Moz Pro FAQs

  • We recommend checking out our Moz Pro Getting Started Checklist for ideas on where to start. Also, be sure to look for the onboarding guides throughout the tools — they are meant to help you get oriented with them.

  • Within Link Explorer, Spam Score represents the percentage of sites with similar features to the site you’re researching, which we've found to be penalized or banned by Google. Spam Score is meant to be a jumping-off point for investigation into your site and the site’s linking to you. You can learn more about investigating your Spam Score in our dedicated guide.

  • Search Visibility is the percentage of clicks we estimate you receive based on your organic rankings positions, across all of the keywords you’re tracking in your Campaign. If your score is currently 0%, this means that your tracked site is not currently ranking in the top 50 results for your tracked keywords. To find your site's ranking keywords, head to Keyword Explorer and add your ranking keywords to your Campaign to track Visibility.

  • There are many reasons why Rogerbot, our Campaign site crawler, may not be able to crawl your site, including server errors or robots.txt directives. We recommend going through our troubleshooting guide to find the cause of the crawl failure.

Moz Local FAQs

  • We recommend checking out our Moz Local Getting Started Checklist to see where to start!

  • You can see a full list of directories included with your Moz Local subscription in our Directories guide.

  • You can update your location data with your Moz Local account at any time by clicking the pencil icon at the top right. Learn more about updating your location information in our Edit Your Location Details guide.

General FAQs

  • Dotbot is Moz's web crawler, it gathers web data for the Moz Link Index. This data we collect through Dotbot is available in the Links section of your Moz Pro campaign, Link Explorer, and the Moz Links API. Dotbot is different from Rogerbot, which is our site audit crawler for Moz Pro Campaigns. You can read more about Dotbot in our guide.
