        In addition to all the good answers you already got.

        Putting everything on a single page you lose opportunities to place keywords in url, <title>and <h1> or diluting <h1> value.</p></title>

          SEO is no longer about strictly writing for Google. In fact, SEO has become more and more about PR and Marketing. So looking at your possible outcomes

          1 Article:

          • From an SEO perspective the further down the page, the lower the value. You would certainly have A LOT of keywords and a lot of content, but you may suffer from keyword cannibalism and end up not really optimizing for any one keyword. Potential for lots of linking, etc.
          • From an end user perspective, if this wasn't a research paper on something I was incredibly passionate about, it would be hard to read.

          10 Articles:

          • From an SEO perspective your article isn't nearly as dense but you potentially gain 10 pages as opposed to one. That poses a link issue and makes the linking a little more difficult but very doable.
          • From an end user perspective it drives me totally BANANAS when I have to keep clicking through an article after every 10 words. However, when done properly, and spaced out correctly, it feels just like turning the page.

          Just my thoughts. I would lean toward the 10 articles, I think there is also more marketing potential there. Spacing it out, turning it into a 10 day release, etc.

            Compared to most others, my articles are usually long, ranging from 1000 to 4000 words.

            I don't think that I would publish a single article that is 15,000 words unless there was no way to break it down, such as a long story.  However, if it is informative content, I would probably break it into at least three or four shorter articles that are stand-alone about a single topic.

            The New York Times has a lot of really long articles (10,000 words plus).  I honestly don't like them because they take too long to read.  If they can't break them into multiple short articles then I think that they should simply shorten them.

              15000 words seems like quite a lot for a single web page. Trying to keep a users attention for that long could prove troublesome and you would need to make sure the content was formatted correctly.

              As a rule of thumb though the post should be as long as it needs to be whether thats a 100 words or 100000 words

                Well, I don´t think there´s a standard answer for this question. In my opinion, the key its gonna be in how that or these posts add value to the user o help them. There is also important what type of keywords are you trying to reach (its difficulty). Assuming both options are made of good and helpful content, I would rather prefer having 10 long tail oriented posts of 1500 words  instead of one mega post.  It will mean more pages indexed and 10 times more chances to get traffic via Google.

                  Are Wildcard Subdomain Hurting my SEO?

                  I have some sites with a lot of categories (category, sub-category, sub-subcategory) and locations (country, state/territory, city). To avoid listing pages really deep in my hierarchy I used wildcard subdomains for the locations, but lately I have been told that might be hurting my overall SEO efforts. I have a lot of URLs like https://city-state-country.example.com on one side of the domain and example.com/category/subcategory/subsubcategory on the other. In the middle you see stuff like city-state-country.example.com/category/subcategory/subsubcategory and everything in between. Would I be better off moving the locations to the right side of the domain name? Then you might find stuff like example.com/country/state/city/category/subcategory/subsubcategory and everything in between. I think I could do the new rewrite rules fairly easily since every country slug is just two characters long.

                  Does homepage SEO exist at all?

                  hi Just read a Yoast article explaining that the homepage should never be optimized for a specific keyword and should only be optimized for its business or brand name. i have a large site that I'd like to rank (or increase traffic for as I know people get irritated with that term now) for 'Campervan hire'. It has plenty of sub pages going after 'Campervan hire 'location'' for example. it makes sense to me for the homepage keyword - my core keyword - to be 'Campervan hire' and for the homepage to be optimised for this. However, the article I've just read (https://yoast.com/homepage-seo/) suggests a separate page for this keyword. What are your thoughts pls?? thanks

                  Less Tags better for SEO?

                  I am currently reviewing my strategy when it comes to categories and tags on my site.  Having been no-indexed for some time, and having many tags with just one entry I am thinking that this is not optimal for SEO purposes. This is what I am planning: Categories - Change these to Index, but only after adding a hundred words or so by way of introduction (see this example - https://www.besthostnews.com/news/hosting/a-small-orange-news/).  With the categories I am thinking of highlighting key articles as well to improve link juice distribution to older articles that are important. Tags - About half my tags have only 1 entry, with a few more just having 2 entries.  I am thinking of deleting all tags with just one entry, and trying to merge those with just two or 3 entries where it makes sense to do so.  I will keep these as no-index, but I think this will mean more optimal distribution of link juice within the site. I would appreciate your thoughts \ suggestions on the best practices here.

                  Does css float affect SEO?

                  It is generally believed that the closer the content is to the top of the page, the better it is for SEO.  If that's incorrect, please let me know. I have a 2 column site where the left menu is navigation and right side is content.  Obviously, the left menu appears in the code before the content does, but I can flip them around via css float.  If I do that, the content will appear on the left visually, even though in the code it still comes after the left side navigation. Do either positions affect seo?

                  Multiple domains vs single domain vs subdomains ?

                  I have a client that recently read an article that advised him to break up his website into various URL's that targeted specific products. It was supposed to be a solution to gain footing in an already competitive industry. So rather than company.com with various pages targeting his products, he'd end up having multiple smaller sites: companyClothing.com companyShoes.com Etc. The article stated that by structuring your website this way, you were more likely to gain ranking in Google by targeting these niche markets. I wanted to know if this article was based on any facts. Are there any benefits to creating a new website that targets a specific niche market versus as a section of pages on a main website? I then began looking into structuring each of these product areas into subdomains, but the data out there is not definitive as to how subdomains are viewed by Google and other search engines - more specifically how subdomains benefit (or not!) the primary domain. So, in general, when a business targets many products and services that cover a wide range - what is the best way to structure the delivery of this info: multiple domains, single domain with folders/categories, or subdomains?  If single domain with folders/categories are not an option, how do subdomains stack up? Thanks in advance for your help/suggestions!
