Redirecting Root domain to subdirectory by IP addresses (country specific)

We are using Wordpress Multisite.
so www.mysite.com is our English website
and www.mysite.com/sub is our Chinese website
Can I redirect Chinese visitors who type "www.mysite.com" to "www.mysite.com/sub" ?
so we want to force redirection to www.mysite.com/sub if our website is visited by Chinese IP Address.
I've realized that this is called GeoIP Redirection. and our hosting company already has those database, I guess my job is just to simply insert some code in .htacess
My question is, would it affect our SEO later on? and what .htacess code is the best practice here?

Also, be aware that in this global economy, the IP does not always determine language (think travelers and expats). Be sure to keep an eye out on conversions and bounce rates on the redirected visitors. It shouldn't be a big issue, but it is something to keep in mind.

Hi Joony - sorry for our delay! I believe that you can use ip detection to re-route Chinese IPs to the page you want. Just be aware that Google's crawling from Mountain View (even for their Chinese indices), so you'll need to provide links back and forth for manual/crawler navigation, too.
It shouldn't affect your SEO, and the plugin is a fine way to do it. You can also do it manually (lots of examples of how on places like StackOverflow, e.g. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2316307/how-to-detect-a-users-language-through-their-ip-address which is a good thread and has numerous points of advice).

Connection => close Does the redirect look wrong? The change of address request was made on Google Console when the website was moved over a year ago. Edit: Checked the domainA.com on bing and it seems that its not indexed, and replaced with domainB.com, which is the right. Just Google is indexing the old domain! My homepage redirects to itself?
Hi there - I'm not a SEO so help would be appreciated! Moz is telling me we have a redirect loop but the URLs are the same. https://www.example.com/ to https://www.example.com/ Why is my homepage creating a redirect loop to itself? We use Wordpress and I do not have any redirects listed for our homepage. Could this have something to do with switching to https in April? Thanks, Katherine

Umlaut in domain
Hi, My client wants to expand it's business to Germany and logically we need a domain name to match. We've found a great one and regsiterd several variants to it. However I just found out that in Germany it is possible (while here it's not) to register a domain with an umlaut. My question is: will google assign more value to: schädlinge.de than schadlinge.de when users search for schädlinge? If yes, how large will the difference be? Multiple Domains on 1 IP Address
We have multiple domains on the same C Block IP Address. Our main site is an eCommerce site, and we have separate domains for each of the following: our company blog (and other niche blogs), forum site, articles site and corporate site. They are all on the same server and hosted by the same web-hosting company. They all have unique and different content. Speaking strictly from a technical standpoint, could this be hurting us? Can you please make a recommendation for the best practices when it comes to multiple domains like these and having separate or the same IP Addresses? Thank you!

Best geotargeting strategy: Subdomains or subfolders or country specific domain
How have the relatively recent changes in how G perceives subdomains changed the best route to onsite geotargeting i.e. not building out new country specific sites on country specific and hosted domains and instead developing sub-domains or sub-folders and geo-targeting those via webmaster tools ? In other words, given the recent change in G perception, are sub-domains now a better option than a sub-folder or is there not much in it ? Also if client has a .co.uk and they want to geo-target say France, is the sub-domain/sub-folder route still an option or is the .co.uk still too UK specific, and these options would only work using a .com ? In other words can sites on country specific domains (.co.uk , .fr, .de etc etc) use sub-folders or domains to geo-target other countries or do they have no option other than to develop new country specific (domains/hosting/language) websites ? Any thoughts regarding current best practice in this regard much appreciated. Will errors on a subdomain effect the overall health of the root domain?
As stated in the question, we have 2 sub domains that contain over 2000 reported errors from SEOMOZ. The root domain has a clean bill of health, and i was just wondering if these errors on the sub-domains could have a negative effect on the root domain in the eyes of Google.
